Ep. 7.5 - Bonus Primesode: Enter Sandman, Isaac Asimov and Dogman
No one knows what it's like to be the Sandman... behind blue eyes... wait, who?
Ooops, we did it again!
Back in December 2022, Arnab and I sat down to record episode 7, a metasode about podcasting. But we started talking about The Sandman and Dune and got carried away so far into the sci-fi land that we didn’t talk about podcasting at all. On the other hand, I got to show off my terrible guitar playing skills completely butchering Enter Sandman!

It was a fun episode to record and a fun one to listen to (for us, at least), so we decided to publish it anyway as a bonus episode.
Since this happened during the recording of episode 7 and seven is a prime number, we decided to call it a “primesode.” Note that we’re not affiliated with Amazon or the Transformers. Not anymore.
We got to talk about all of our favorite sci-fi authors, books, and movies. We discuss Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic series, its Audible version, and the Netflix interpretation. Then we go into Isaac Asimov and finally end with Dav Pilkey’s Dogman.
Because of the Dogman creation story, we had to mark this episode as explicit. Buyer beware, there are scenes of violence! TLDR: Dogman is half-dog, half-policeman.
The only thing relevant to podcasting that came out of this episode is this AI transcription by our favorite tool Descript...
If Dav Pilkey wanted to use Good Omens and American Gods for his books’ titles, he could’ve just used Descript. Oh, and if you’re not familiar with Dav Pilkey’s book titles, they include naming masterpieces like Fetch-22, The Lord of the Fleas, and For Whom the Ball Rolls.
Enjoy (or not) and let us know if occasional primesodes like this would be fun for you to listen to!
