This time we decided to publish a video. We dressed up, turned on some fancy lights, and hit the record button. We decided no matter how bad it comes out we’ll publish it anyway.
Well… we’re not publishing the video.
Getting it out without editing would be too embarrassing even for us. Doing the edits is not an option because it’s too much work. So, we’re following advice from Zach & Rock in our SquadCast founders’ episode and sticking to audio-only for now. We’re probably missing out on YouTube randomly showing our content to people but we just don’t have the capacity or resources to produce a video of acceptable quality at this time.

It’s ok to have musical instruments and telescopes and keep them just for emotional value (a.k.a. never use them).
Guitars are good for hugging. No, seriously. Try this sometimes. Don’t play it. Just hug it. It feels great if you have the energetic connection with the instrument. If not, smash it over an amplifier like Pete Townsend or Kurt Cobain. Either way, you’ll get some emotional value from it.
Ilya’s last name means a “slacker.” Yep… Apparently a few generations past there were slackers in my family. But truth be told, guess who doesn’t want to post-produce the video we recorded because it’s too much work?
Solving office problems in hallways pre-pandemic. Neither of us misses being locked up in an office for 8 hours every day but we do miss in-person collaboration and solving problems while going to a restroom.
Speaking of slacking… humans like to assign “easy” tasks for future selves. During the recording, I said I’d do a few things — post a picture of my water bottle and my light setup, produce a video — but I’m going to give myself a pass and slack this time.
Instead, I’ll just take a quick picture of my background in the video that we never published. This is the view I enjoy every time I work at my desk. The guitars, as you know now, are for hugging. The drums just look classy and expensive. That’s all that matters.
Oh, you might be wondering why this metasode is a “slowsode.” We both were a little tired, so this episode has a bit of a gooey vibe.
